MinnPost – State says job vacancies up, with 41,000 reported openings
Via MinnPost.com More than 41,000 job openings were reported in Minnesota during the second quarter, a jump of 32 percent from a year ago, the state Department of Employment and Economic Development reports today.There’s still way more unemployed people than job openings, though, the survey shows.The state report says most of the reported job openings were in the Twin Cities metropolitan area — 23,800, or 58 percent. Greater Minnesota had 17,600.Still, the Twin Cities had 4.4 unemployed people for each job vacancy, and Greater Minnesota had 5.4 unemployed people per job vacancy.DEED Commissioner Dan McElroy says this is good news: MORE:
